Nationwide Unemployment Levels Lowest Since 2008

Posted: Updated:

Economists are describing the newest unemployment report as "a mixed bag," "under whelming," and "disappointing."

The unemployment level is at its lowest level since 2008.

Thousands of Americans were able to get new jobs, but there were simply not enough hires to help paint a positive economic outlook.

One of the main reasons for the drop is more people simply stopped looking for work.

That means they are not technically considered unemployed.

Nationwide, the unemployment rate is down to the lowest it's been in years.

Michigan's unemployment figure is delayed because of the government shutdown.  It needs information from the Bureau of Labor and Statistics to send out state estimates.
