Leelanau Co. Woman Attacked By Dogs

Posted: Updated:

A Leelanau County woman was fined after her dogs bit another woman out for a walk on N Overlook Road in Leelanau Township.

The incident happened last Thursday morning.

Deputies say two big dogs ran away from their owner and started biting a woman walking by.

The victim was bit on the arm and leg multiple times.

A passing driver stopped and called 911.

The owner of the dogs admitted the more aggressive dog had bitten someone in the past.

She was ticketed for the incident, and the dogs quarantined for 10 days to ensure they don't have rabies.

The prosecutor has yet to decide if the dogs will be put down.
