The Cheboygan County Sheriff's Department is looking to complaints about a medical bracelet scam in the area.
The callers are trying to sell personal emergency alert systems, promising to help seniors with medical emergencies or break-in calls.
Sheriff Dale Clarmont says they are offering incentives by promising people coupons worth thousands of dollars, but their main interest is just to collect credit card information.
Deputies want to remind people that it is never safe to provide personal information such as account numbers to telemarketers over the phone, and that you need to tell them to take your number off of their list.
If you think you have been a victim of a scam, you are advised to contact your local law enforcement agency.
