Volunteers Sell Hotdogs and Refreshments To Benefit McBain Backpack Program

Posted: Updated:

A group in McBain is hoping the community will help them feed hungry children.

The McBain Area Backpack Program in Missaukee County is raising money at Friday night's football game with Beal City.

Volunteers will be selling hotdogs and refreshments to benefit the program.

They pack bags and send them home with second, third, and fourth graders on Fridays.

The bag provides 6 meal items and 6 snacks so kids get better nutrition while they're not at school.

The program will be set up right in front of the gate before the game.

It helps about 70 kids in the area every week.

If you want information about the program or interested in volunteering, contact Judy Meekhof at 231-878-5875.
