Charges are pending for a man police say walked into Cherry Capital Airport with a knife in his carry-on.

Airport security says Kevin Reffitt of Williamsburg admitted to having the three-and-a-half inch buck knife in his bag.

He said it was only used for hunting.

The knife was taken away, and Reffitt was allowed to board the flight.

He faces charges for carrying a weapon into a sterile area.

He has not yet been arrested or formally charged.
