U.S. Flags Lowered In Honor Of Late Fire Chief John Allison

Governor Snyder orders flags to be lowered to half-staff Friday.

U.S. flags on all state buildings are to be lowered to half-staff in honor of Custer Fire Chief John Allison.

Chief Allison passed away earlier this week on October 14 from complications of injuries in the line of duty on October 7. 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 19 at Cornerstone Baptist Church. 

Visitation will be from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the church on 121 Nelson Rd. in Ludington. 

Flags should be returned to full-staff after the funeral service. 

Flags should be hoisted first to the peak for an moment then lowered to half-staff position. The flag should be raised to the peak before lowering for the day.
