After a 16 day shutdown, the government is back open today.
A late day Senate agreement averted a US debt default and reopened the government.
President Obama signed the measure just after midnight.
It raises the government's borrowing limit until February 7th, and funds the government through January 15th.
With the shutdown over, hundreds of thousands of federal workers will return to work today.
The shutdown cost the economy an estimated 24 billion dollars.
