Posted: Updated:

An elderly woman is recovering Wednesday after getting in a two-car crash, and then getting hit again while outside of her vehicle.

The accident happened around 8:30 Tuesday night on US-23 in Alpena County's Sanborn Township.

Troopers say the initial accident happened when the woman pulled onto the road from a driveway, and was hit by a southbound Alpena driver.

The woman then got out of her car.

That's when she was hit again by another driver.

The woman was taken to the hospital for her injuries.

Both crashes are still under investigation.
