Drunk Driver Arrested for Crash on NMC Campus

Posted: Updated:

Traverse City police were called to the campus of Northwestern Michigan College late Tuesday night after a car went off the road, hit some trees, and got stuck.

Police say the driver from Marion was driving west on College Drive near the library when he lost control on a curve. He hopped the curb, and hit several pine trees before his car got stuck in one of the larger trees. A tow truck had to free the vehicle from the tree.

The driver was initially ticketed for speeding, but later arrested for drunk driving.
