Government Shutdown Continues For Nearly 2 Weeks, Talks Postponed

Lawmakers are still trying to come to an agreement Monday, nearly two full weeks after the start of the partial government shutdown.  

9&10 News is updating on the impasse around the clock.

A meeting between congressional leaders and President Obama is being postponed to give senate leaders more time to negotiate.

Lawmakers are facing yet another deadline -- on Thursday, the nation hits the debt ceiling for spending.

 Talks between the President and House Republicans fell apart over the weekend.

 But senators Reid and McConnell say they share optimism that the impasse may soon come to an end. 

An estimated $350,000 federal workers are still off the job without pay while this shutdown drags on.
