Events Around Northern Michigan: Welcoming Fall

Posted: Updated:

This weekend is all about welcoming fall!

Communities are getting ready for Halloween, celebrating a new season, and appreciating all the changes that come with it.

So if you're looking for some plans for this weekend, here are 3 great fall events:

It's mid-October and that means fall is in full swing, and Halloween is right around the corner.

If you're looking to start your Halloween fun a little early, the Cheboygan Jaycee's Annual Haunted House opens tonight, Friday, October 11th.

This year they're partnering with the Cheboygan County Fair to bring you a "Scare at the Fair."

The event is every Friday and Saturday through the month of October from 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Cheboygan County Fairgrounds.

Admission is $10.

If you're looking for something a little less frightening, you can head over to Drummond Island for their 5th Annual Fall on the Island Festival.

The festival starts today and goes through Sunday, October 13th.

Packed full of great options, the main event will be held near the Drummond Island Town Hall.

Prices for events vary so you'll want to check those ahead of time based on what you're interested in doing.

We have the privilege of living in northern Michigan where we get to experience the beauty of all four seasons, and as leaves begin to change you might want to consider checking out this event.

It's the Fall Color Train Tour happening this Saturday, October 12th.

You can take a beautiful scenic tour from Mount Pleasant to Cadillac at 10:00 a.m. with tickets starting at $79.

Or you can board the train in Cadillac at 2:00 p.m. for a trip to Yuma.

Those tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for kids.
