West Michigan Janitor Fired For Offering Students Money To Fight Peer

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) -- A west Michigan janitor is out of a job, accused of offering two students a $1 to fight a fellow fourth grader.

The Grand Rapids Public Schools spokesman says the woman was fired Monday after someone nearby heard the offer and turned her in.

The proposal was reportedly after the student made some unflattering comments.

The district spokesman says the investigation is ongoing and that they consider it unacceptable in any way for an employee to behave in this way.
