Chance For Negotiation On Day 10 Of Partial Government Shutdown

Posted: Updated:

In continuing government shutdown coverage Thursday night, there is a renewed chance for negotiation.

House Speaker John Boehner says Republicans would vote to extend the government's ability to borrow money for six more weeks.

But only if the White House first agrees to new negotiations on spending cuts.

The nation is now in the 10th day of a partial government shutdown.

President Obama invited all House Republicans to a White House meeting today.

House Speaker Boehner sent just a small group, including Representative Dave Camp from Michigan's 4th district.

The White House says the president would likely sign a clean bill that increases the debt cap.

A new polls shows congressional approval sits at 11%, down 8 points from last month.

It's also only one point away from an all-time low.
