The ex-Detroit Mayor and one of his friends may be paying back millions to the Motor City.
Federal prosecutors want Kwame Kilpatrick and Bobby Ferguson to pay more than $9.6 million in restitution.
The request was filed Monday.
Sentencing for Kilpatrick and Ferguson is this week in their corruption case.
In March, Kilpatrick was convicted of racketeering conspiracy, fraud and tax offenses.
The government says he took bribes and made sure Ferguson got millions.
Kilpatrick quit office in 2008.
