Missaukee Co. Dog Breeder Pleads No Contest To Obstructing Police Charge

Posted: Updated:

A Northern Michigan dog breeder pleaded no contest to a charge of attempting to obstruct a police officer.

The Missaukee County man had more than 150 dogs removed from his so-called puppy mill, in May.

Deputies say John Jones didn't follow commands to get out of the way, so police started to physically move him, and there was an altercation.

Jones could spend up to a year in jail.

The animal neglect case was handled in civil court.
