BIG RAPIDS - Ferris State had opportunities to win it late, but turnovers forced the Bulldogs to their first GLIAC loss of the year.  Saginaw Valley State spoiled Ferris State's homecoming with a 31-28 Cardinals victory.

A Mark Mays 1-yard touchdown run gave Saginaw Valley State a 24-0 lead in the Second Quarter.

The Bulldogs mounted a comeback that was capped off by Jason Vander Laan's 2-yard touchdown run.

Ferris State had one last drive in the final seconds, but Vander Laan's pass was intercepted with 10 seconds remaining.

The Bulldogs host Grand Valley State next Saturday in the big "Anchor Bone" rivalry game.  Kickoff is set for 7pm at Top Taggart Field.
