UPDATE: Police Say Capitol Shooting Suspect Killed

Posted: Updated:

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The US Capitol Police say the Capitol was in a lock down this afternoon.

Gunshots were reported outside the Capitol building. Police say the gun fire is an isolated incident and not terrorism.

New reports says the gun shots are related to a vehicle that attempted to ram the barricade at the White House.

The woman who tried to get through the White House gate was shot and killed by Secret Service agents after leading a pursuit one mile to Capitol Hill.

A report says a Capitol police officer was injured following the chase.

Police do not know why the woman struck the White House barrier.
