Otsego Co. Woman Accused Of Embezzling Thousands Of Dollars

Posted: Updated:

The Otsego County Senior Citizen Housing Association noticed money was missing from it's bingo nights.

The association hosts bingo at a center in Gaylord, and also at it's senior center location in Vanderbilt. Ira Holborn says Lucinda Piehl was in charge of the bingo games in Gaylord.

When he had a bingo inspector look at funds, he says there was only $3 in her account, when there should have been thousands.

Prosecutors say Piehl was charged with embezzling money from a local non-profit.

Police arrested Lucinda Piehl in August, and was arraigned in court today.

Official complaints sent to the police show around $14,00 went missing.

Piehl is due back in court September 26th. If she's found guilty, she faces up to ten years in jail.

Alyssa Gambla and photojournalist Erin Malone spoke with the association to find out more.
