Officer Shoots Dog As it Attacks Partner

A Benzie County Deputy shot and killed a pit bull that attacked his partner during a drug arrest.

The incident happened Friday night in Benzonia Township in Benzie County.

The deputy's partner was trying to arrest the suspected drug dealer and take him to jail when the dog attacked.

Police say the suspect had felony warrants for delivery and manufacture of mushrooms and marijuana.
