Teen Dies After Isabella Co. Bike Accident

Posted: Updated:

Police say a teenage boy died after an accident in Isabella County.

State police say the 16 year old, Sean Stanton, was riding his bike when he was hit by a man driving a Chevy Blazer on Meridian Road at Baseline Road Monday evening.

The teen was airlifted to a hospital in Flint where he passed away from his injuries Tuesday.

Police say the Sean was wearing a helmet.

Witnesses say the teen did not yield the right of way when entering the intersection.

Troopers are now working to determine if speed was a factor in the accident.

Kyle Mitchell spoke to Sean's father and Sean's cross-country coach. They say he loved to ride his bike and was involved in his church youth group.

The teen's father says funeral arrangements are still pending, but they expect to have visitation this weekend at Clark Funeral Home. Details should be up soon.
