Police Investigating Possible Arson Fire In Mecosta County

Posted: Updated:

Police were called to investigate a possible arson fire along with a break-in and destruction of property.

The incident occurred around 1 AM Saturday in Sheridan Township of Mecosta County where a structure was on fire.

A pole barn and a shed were set on fire.

Police believe it is arson, and maybe a way to cover evidence of a break-in where tires and wheels were stolen off two cars.

Police say racial slurs were spray painted on the residence.

No one was in the residence when the other buildings caught on fire.

Police are still investigating.

If you have any information call the Mecosta County Sheriff Department at 231-592-0150.
