Events Around Northern Michigan: Weekend of September 13th

Posted: Updated:

We are headed into the weekend so if you don't have any plans, you might want to check out some of these events going on across our area!

In Sault Ste. Marie this weekend, some Red Wings Alumni are lacing up once again to hit the ice for a charity game against the Soo Eagles. Tickets are $20 for adults and $16 for kids. The game is Saturday, September 14th at 7:30. A portion of the proceeds will be going towards the KDR Challenge, a foundation that educates kids about the dangers of driving while using a cell phone.

Also on Saturday, the Wexford Missaukee Suicide Prevention Coalition is hosting a Suicide Awareness Walk in downtown Cadillac. The event starts at 10:00 a.m. at the Rotary Pavilion in the Cadillac City Park. At the walk, you will find live music, public speakers, and you can also participate in a balloon release.

If you're looking for an event for the whole family to go to, you might want to head to Clare county for Mid Michigan Community College's 21st Annual Barbeque and Fall Festival. The festival starts at 12:00 p.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday the 15th at the MMCC Harrison Campus. Tickets are $5 before the event, and $7 the day of. The barbeque will raise money for student scholarships.

For more information on any of these events you can click the links to the left of this story.

If you have an event you would like us, and or the rest of northern Michigan to know about, you can post them on our Community Calendar.
