UPDATE:

Another Grand Traverse Bay beach report says all beaches are now safe for full body contact.

West End, Bryant Park, and East Bay Park beaches have been sampled again and now E. coli levels meet MDEQ standards for swimming and full body contact.

A new beach report released Thursday shows disturbing E. coli levels in the water at one Traverse City beach.

The East Bay Park Beach currently has E. coli levels that exceed standards set by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.

No body contact with the water is being advised at this point.

The West End and Bryant Park beaches have levels of E. coli too. Michigan DEQ says contact with the water above the waist is not advised, however wading, fishing, and boating are acceptable.

Symptoms of E. coli infections include bloody diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea, and vomiting.

Some people don't show any symptoms. Symptoms typically begin to appear 3 to 4 days after contact.

Many people recover in about a week.
