No Danger From Contaminated Groundwater Beneath Future Hotel Indigo

Posted: Updated:

A new report says cyanide in the groundwater near the construction site of a new Traverse City hotel is not getting into Grand Traverse Bay.

AKT Peerless performed tests on the polluted water beneath the future site of Hotel Indigo.

The groundwater goes to the edge of Grand Traverse Bay, but AKT says it is not getting into the bay.

High levels of cyanide were found in the groundwater earlier this summer, triggering the investigation.

AKT has not found the source of the cyanide, but wants the public to know they are not in any danger.
