Viral Portrait Of Unique Couple Reminds U.S. Of Military Sacrifices

Posted: Updated:

This husband and wife's recent portrait is taking off online with thousands of shares and comments about their amazing story.

Marine Staff Sergeant Jesse Cottle lost both of his legs while on a clearing mission in Afghanistan in 2009.

Jesse stepped on a pressure plate, and was carried out of the war zone.

Months later, Jesse was at a swim meet in San Diego when he met his future wife, Kelly.

They married last year, and recently came back to Kelly's hometown in Idaho, where they had family photos taken.

Kelly posted them on her Facebook page, including the one of her carrying Jesse on her back, and the photos just took off, nationwide.

It's a good reminder of the sacrifices being made by our military members, every day.
