Local Salvation Army Corps in Dire Need of Food Pantry Donations

Posted: Updated:

Thousands of people across northern Michigan depend on the Salvation Army for help, now the Salvation Army is asking for help from the community.

A number of corps around the region are in critical need of food pantry donations.

Many pantries are seeing their shelves mostly bare.

At the Salvation Army in Ludington, Captain Timothy McPherson says a food drive at the beginning of the summer has helped them get through the past few months.

The shortfall can be attributed to more people seeking services, and less donations being made.

They are lacking many of the foods they need most including canned meats and cereals.

Captain McPherson says he's counting on his community to help in their time of need.
