Flash Flood Warnings Issued For Northern Michigan Areas

The National Weather Service in Gaylord has issued a flash flood warning for several counties.

Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, and northern Benzie counties are under the warning until 9:30 PM.

Local people in Traverse City have reported up to half a foot of water on the road at the intersection of Veterans and 14th Street.

Runoff from the storms rolling through Northern Michigan may cause flash flooding.  

Areas to watch out for flash flooding include: 

Empire, Kalkaska, Leland, Traverse City, Barker Creek, Bear Lake, Bendon, Bingham, Burdickville, Cedar, Darragh, Fife Lake, Fouch, Glen Arbor, Glen Haven, Grawn, Greilickville, Hannah, Honor, Interlochen, Interlochen State Park, Kingsley, Lake Ann, Lake Leelanau, Maple City, Mapleton Old Mission, Omena, Peshawbestown, and Platte Township.
