Posted: Updated:

Midland County Police arrested a 23 year old Ithaca man for having and making Methamphetamine.

Sergeant Michael Sutherlund was actively patrolling southwest Midland County after recent reports of larceny in the area.

Sergeant Sutherlund saw a white Dodge Caravan that had been sitting at the intersection of Kent and Magrudder roads for a long time.  After seeing the patrol car, the van then pulled into a private driveway.

The driver exited the vehicle and then Sergeant Sutherlund asked what he was doing in the area. The driver explained he was looking for a friend.

Sergeant Sutherlund asked for and received consent to search the suspect vehicle.

Upon searching the van, Sergeant Sutherlund found a white, crystal-type substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.  Also found were drain cleaners, lithium batteries, filters, and plastic bottles.

The man was arrested and taken to Midland County Jail.  He remains in jail waiting to be arraigned.
