UPDATE: Police Find 4 Missing People Near Sleeping Bear

UPDATE:

9&10 News now knows that around 7:49 p.m. the missing father and his 3kids were found by a search and rescue team on Dune Valley Road.

All four people were found healthy and still hydrated.

The father was arrested for a prior domestic violence warrant. Police say they were not  concerned for the childrens' safety after finding them with their father, and no charges have been filed for this incident.

The 3 children were interviewed and will soon be reunited with their mother.

The father is awaiting is lodged at the Leelanau County Jail until his arraignment in Emmet County.

The search lasted 12 hours and crews covered a mile radius from the car.

Just into the 9&10 Newsroom.  

All missing people have been found alive. 

The father and three children have been found in Leelanau County.

The Leelanau County Sheriff told 9&10 Reporter Vanessa Fayz they are calling in more than 40 volunteer firemen and other searchers.

Searchers are breaking up into a grid pattern.

But once it gets dark, searchers will begin using forward-looking infrared cameras.

Right now, police tell 9&10 News they are still treating this as four people who are lost.

The car that police found is a BMW, not a Mercedes.

The father is from Orchard Lake in Oakland County. 

He was visiting relatives in Emmet County.

The domestic abuse happened Sunday night around 10 PM in Bear Creek Township.

Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore Park is open, apart from areas that are being searched.  

Closed areas include the Dune Climb, and part of the Heritage Trail.  The rest of the park remains open.

The search continues in Sleeping Bear Park and other area cities for 4 missing people.

A witness says they may have seen the group while out jogging through the Park.  

Search teams are looking in cities where the missing family has relatives or know people. 

Police are searching Sleeping Bear with K-9 units. 

Police say there is a warrant out for the father's arrest in Emmet County for domestic violence.

Police are searching for a father and three children.  

Leelanau Sheriffs say a 50 year old father, daughters 10- and 14- years old, and a 9 year old son are missing.

A Park Ranger found the father's silver Mercedes that had a "Be on the Look Out" in Emmet County since Sunday.  The car was found at the Coast Guard Maritime Heritage Museum at Sleeping Bear.

Police say they found some unusual things in the car, but they are not saying what.

Many enforcement teams are out searching for the four including Michigan DNR, Grand Traverse US Coast Guard, and Michigan State Police Park Rangers.

The Sleeping Bear Park is closed while officers are searching.
