Model Airplane Show Raises Money for Wounded Warriors

Posted: Updated:

Today the Benzie Area Radio Club (B.A.R.C)  hosted it's 16th annual air show at Thompsonville Airport

This year the event is dedicated to the Wounded Warrior Project.

The club partnered with the Academy of Model Aeronautics to kick of the first of many events dedicated to wounded veterans.

More than 100 model airplanes, helicopters and jet planes put on a show.

It was free to get in, but they asked people to contribute to the Wounded Warrior Project.

This group of pilots is made up of more than 50 members, and they showed off all kinds of tricks.

The A.M.A say's it's important to host events that help our veterans.

The chapter says it's still collecting donations for veterans.
