Otsego Memorial Hospital Ranked Highest In Northern Michigan

Posted: Updated:

One Northern Michigan hospital is recognized as one of the state's top hospitals.

Determined by Consumer Reports "Your Safer-Surgery Survival Guide" in the September 2013 magazine issue, the Otsego Memorial Hospital (OMH) has been ranked one of Michigan's top hospitals for surgeries.

OMH is the highest ranking hospital in Northern Michigan and only one of 17 hospitals in the state to receive a high rating.

Consumer Reports looked at Medicare claims data of patients undergoing 27 categories of common surgeries from 2009 through 2011.

The ratings are based on the percentage of a hospital's surgery patients who experienced adverse effects or stayed longer than expected.

"We are excited to have this Rating as it demonstrates OMH's commitment to quality, patient safety, and our laser focus on providing excellent patient care," said Tom Lemon, CEO at Otsego Memorial Hospital.
