DHS Worker Accused of Sex Crimes

Posted: Updated:

A northern Michigan man is accused of using his position at the Department of Human Services to get sexual favors.

Gabriel Green of Alanson was arrested Thursday on four counts of criminal sexual conduct. The investigation started in early July.

State police say Green used his position of authority as a DHS caseworker for child protective services to commit the crime.
According to an affidavit in the case, the victim was being investigated by DHS for allegations of drug use where a child resided. Green was her caseworker and is accused of using her situation to his advantage, by coercing her to perform sexual favors. The victim believed that if she complied with Green's requests, she would get out of the investigation.
Police say there may be other victims.
He faces up to 15 years in prison for each count if he's convicted.
