Police Investigating Suspicious Fire at Ric's Food Center

Posted: Updated:

Bags of Cheetos set on fire at a grocery store, investigators now trying to track down an arsonist.

A popular grocery store in Isabella County closed their doors today to deal with the damage.

Ric's Food Center in Mount Pleasant was busy cleaning up the soot and water damage after the early morning fire.

The store reopened just a couple hours ago, but not after they spent several hours throwing away damaged items and inspecting the store. It was actually the sprinkler system that did the most damage.

Fire investigators are considering the fire, arson. Only a handful of people were in the store at the time of the fire, investigators are now trying to track down all of them for questioning.

A $5,000 reward is being offered to anyone who has information leading to an arrest. If you have seen either of the two witnesses, contact Mount Pleasant Public Safety at 989-779-5100 or the anonymous tip line at 989-779-9111.

9&10's Katie Boomgaard and photojournalist Jeff Blevins visited the store and has their reaction in tonight's Top Story.
