Cadillac Graduate Headed to MIT on Scholarship

Posted: Updated:

One Northern Michigan teen is on his way to a prestigious college in the fall thanks to a scholarship.

Zachary Neely is a recent graduate of Cadillac High School and is heading to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

9&10 News has video of Zachary helping out the Cadillac Junior High School Band.

Zachary says MIT gave him a financial need scholarship, leaving the family little to nothing to pay in tuition and other costs.

Zachary says strong grades and lots of activities helped earn him a spot at the University.

He plans to get a degree in Computer Science and minor in Music Theory or Composition, though he's still not sure what career path he'll follow.
