An update on the mother accused of killing her newborn at a Benzie County campground.

Her first court appearance is being delayed to give both sides more time to prepare for the case.

Police say Alyce Morales gave birth to a baby girl in a tent at the Platte River campground on July 22nd.

Police were called to the scene by Morales' father, and said it appeared Alyce kept her pregnancy a secret.

Troopers say the child appeared to have traumatic injuries.

Morales is being held without bond.

Her first court date is now set for September 5th.
