Mecosta Makeover Project in Full Swing

Posted: Updated:

A small town in Northern Michigan is making big changes to their downtown area.

A creative Mecosta organization in Mecosta County is working to improve the look of their downtown.

Today, a group from the Mecosta County Youth and Family Center put a new coat of paint on the outside of Woody's Party Store.

Last year, they painted Steve's Auto and Repair Shop, which was the beginning of their Mecosta Makeover project.

Linda Bula, Mecosta Makeover organizer says, "We're trying to encourage businesses to come into town and then help the economy, and all the way around be a better place to live."

The group receives private donations from the community to do this project.

They hope to vamp up the Miller Pub before the end of the summer.
