Mecosta County Man In Jail For Providing Alcohol to Minors

A Mecosta County man is in jail for approaching minors for immoral purposes and giving alcohol to minors. 

It is reported that on Friday, August 8, Richard Harold Ashmore II convinced 3 women to remove their shirts. These women were provided alcohol by Ashmore.  Police found during investigation that the 15 year old and the 24 year old were drunk at the time. The other woman was 17 years old.

Police located Ashmore at his home on Thursday, August 15.  Evidence was found there and Ashmore was arrested and taken to Mecosta County Jail. 

Ashmore was arraigned Friday on charges of accosting a minor for immoral purposes and 2 counts of furnishing alcohol to minors. 

Bond was set at $1,000,000.
