Cheboygan Kindergarten Teacher Faces Drug and Home Invasion Charges

Posted: Updated:

A former Kindergarten teacher in Cheboygan faces six charges for drugs, theft, and home invasion.

Tammy LaFrinere, a former Kindergarten teacher at Cheboygan West Elementary is due in court on September 4 on multiple charges including home invasion, theft in a building, and possession of controlled substances.

A fellow teacher at the school noticed her Vicodin missing on three separate occasions and confronted LaFrinere.  LaFrinere admitted to stealing the drugs. Police say over 30 pills were stolen.

LaFrinere attempted to break in to another teacher's home, also.

Police received complaints about the thefts and home invasion in May, and the case has just been closed.  LaFrinere had since resigned, says the school's superintendant.

LaFrinere has been cooperative and was arraigned in court Tuesday, August 13.

Stay tuned to 9&10 News for an update on this case.
