A Detroit man visiting friends in the area drowned yesterday in Leelanau at the Sleeping Bear Bay.

The victim was identified by Leelanau County Sheriff's Office as 24-year old Dylan Bailey.

Witnesses say they saw the victim jogging on the beach and then enter the water to swim. Shortly after, they heard him yelling and he appeared distressed.

Four teenagers from the 44th Parallel Cross Country Camp swam in after Bailey and got him back to shore.

Despite the campers efforts, Bailey became the third drowning victim in Lake Michigan for the Leelanau County Sheriff's department this summer.

9 & 10's Marisa McKay talked with the Undersheriff and the camp's director to learn more about these four brave young men.
