Continuing Coverage: Police Have Lead in Kelly Hurlbert Hit and Run Case

9&10 News has an update on the hit and run that left Kelly Hurlbert dead a month and a half ago.

Thursday, police are working on a tip they say is substantial, and are currently conducting interviews.

Hurlbert was hit while riding her bike on July 5, and died from her injuries near the corner of Railroad and Washington in Traverse City.

Two weeks ago, witnesses called Traverse City police, as well as troopers in Alpena with information about a man they believed was involved in the hit and run.

This person splits time between Ossineke and Traverse City, and it's confirmed he was in Traverse City the night of the accident.

9 & 10's Marisa McKay and photojournalist Jeremy Erickson spoke to the lead detective to learn more about this promising lead, and a close friend of Hurlbert who talks about the emotional roller coaster this investigation has been.
