Police have released the name of the woman who died after falling out of a Global Electric Motorcar (GEM) on August 9.
Police say Evelyn Ricci, from Grosse Pointe Farms, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
GEM cars are held to the same rules and laws as any other motor vehicle. Michigan law says that GEM car occupants must wear seat belts.
This investigation is still on-going.
A woman who fell from a golf cart late last week has died.
Police in Petoskey tell 9&10 News the 36-year-old fell out of the cart, called a GEM car, Friday morning near Cliffs Drive and Bay Harbor Drive, near downtown Bay Harbor.
She was taken to McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital for her injuries. She died Sunday as a result of those injuries.
Police are still investigating the accident.
