Posted: Updated:

Since 1953 The Cherry Bowl Drive In has been a piece of Northern Michigan history.

"Rain or shine, dusk is the time" rings in the heads of the millions of visitors who have passed into the gates.

Seven nights a week in the summer, the theater features two movies back to back. Along with showing movies the campus features snacks, a playground, putt putt golf and beach volleyball.

Owner, Laura Clark says without the brand new digital projection system the Cherry Bowl could close after this season. The system is estimated to cost at least $80,000.

Honda, has created a contest to pay for five theaters across the country to get brand new projection systems and help keep their gates open. To VOTE for the Cherry Bowl Drive In follow the link attached to this story.
