Feedback at 5:00: Can A Judge Tell You To Change Your Child's Name?

Posted: Updated:

Tuesday's Feedback at 5:00:

For the past seven months, a Tennessee family has called their baby boy by his given name, "Messiah."

But now a judge is ordering them to change it.

The judge says "Messiah" is a title only Jesus should have.

The parents of the little boy were in court last week on a child support matter.

After hearing the child's name, the judge ordered the change.

The boy's name is now Martin Deshawn McCllough, which includes the last names of both parents and leaves out Messiah.

The mother is appealing.

What do you think of the judge's decision? Should it be one a judge can make?

It's tonight's Feedback at Five.
