TRAVERSE CITY (AP)-
Police have released the name of the man who died after coming into contact with a high-voltage power line.
Zach Adams was a subcontractor for Traverse City Light & Power. He died when he backed into the power line. His death was determined accidental.
Adams and a partner had spent two weeks clearing branches from backyard trees.
A man working for Trees Incorporated was electrocuted today after coming into contact with high voltage power lines.
The Executive Director of Traverse City Light and Power tells 9&10 News that the young man was trimming trees around distribution lines behind Traverse City homes. He somehow came into contact with a 13,800 volt power line and died.
The accident caused an addition power outage to about 550 customers.
The incident is still under investigation.
