On Monday, July 29, 2013, Cadillac Police received a call around 1:45 PM and arrived at the McDonald's located in Cadillac's West end on M-115.

Employees at McDonald's noticed a van in the parking lot at 7:00 am when arriving for work.  They didn't think anything of it.  However, just before 1:45 PM, the hazard lights began flashing on the van.

Employees went to investigate the situation and found 4 young children inside the van. They called police immediately.

Cadillac Police Officers arrived and found two 7-year-old boys, a 2-year-old and a 1-year-old girl left unattended in the van.

Police discovered the 34-year-old mother was working at the Subway restaurant next door and had left the children in the car since 6:30 am.

Cadillac Police arrested her on child abuse charges.

Her hearing with the Wexford County Prosecutor's Office is later today, Tuesday, July 30.

The children were turned over to the mother's sister after notifying Child Protective Services.
