Wexford Mom Accused of Child Abuse

Posted: Updated:

Shocking accusations against a Wexford County mother after police say she encouraged her young teenage daughter to use drugs and have sex.

Police say Stacy Youngs did not protect her daughter and contributed to her illegal behavior.

Youngs was arrested in Cadillac over the weekend and formally charged this week.

According to court documents, Youngs provided marijuana and valium to her daughter to use and pills for her to sell. Police say she also contributed to the delinquency of her daughter by giving her drugs. She is also accused of encouraging her daughter to have sex with an adult.

The Wexford County Prosecutor says Youngs is not the legal guardian over her daughter, but was visiting her at the time of the incident.

Youngs is charged with second degree child abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a child.

Meantime, the adult Youngs daughter had sex with is being sought by police.

Last week, the Wexford County Prosecutor issued charges against 18-year-old Joseph Verardi for two counts of criminal sexual conduct.

If anyone has information on Verardi's whereabouts they are asked to call Cadillac Police.
