The Charlevoix County Sheriff's Office is investigating a crash that took place in Marion Township July 21st.

A man was driving Southbound on Marion Center Road when he lost control of his vehicle going around a curve. Eugene Kasmer, 69-years-old went off road, hit trees, and his car rolled over.

Emergency crews had to remove Kasmer from his car, and he was air lifted to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.

One witness said Kasmer was unresponsive after the crash but did respond to EMS crews on scene.

Police say Kramer was wearing his seatbelt, which probably saved his life.

Police say alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
