Semi-Truck Tips Over Due to High WInds on Mackinac Bridge

Posted: Updated:

Sitting right in the middle of the storm stretched across the Straits of Mackinac, the Mighty Mac took quite a beating in last night's storm.

So badly that a semi truck was tipped over in the wind.

The bridge was closed for four hours as crews righted the truck.

Just after 9 last night the winds kicked up from 25 miles an hour to well over 40 in a matter of seconds, with some gusts getting as high as 79 miles an hour.

9&10 News' Eric Lloyd and photojournalist Tony Zyber spoke to the Bridge Authority about the accident and have more details.
