Manistee County Sheriff's Office repots they responded to an assault complaint in Onekama Twp. on the corner of M-22 and 11 Mile Road on Saturday July 13th.

They had been informed a person was stabbed in the chest below the heart and the suspect was still on the scene.

When police arrived they discovered two people were stabbed. Deputies were directed towards a man working in a field. Manistee Deputies and Officers from the Little River Band of Ottowa Indians went to the field and made an arrest.

One 30-year-old male and a 34-year-old male were arguing while working when the 34-year-old suspect stabbed the other man.

The son of the man who was stabbed tried to break up the fight and was stabbed in the chest. The 30-year-old father then tried to help his son, and was cut in the arm.

One of the suspects was treated at the scene, and the other was taken to Munson Hospital where he was treated and released.

The 34-year-old suspect is charged with one count of Felonious assault and one count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder. He is being held at Manistee County Jail on a $50,000 bond. He will be arraigned next week.

All of those involved are in Manistee temporarily, as seasonal workers.
