Cheboygan Co. Man Arrested After Shots Fired During a Domestic Dispute

Posted: Updated:

Cheboygan county police responded to a home in Tuscarora Township after a report of shots fired during a domestic dispute.

A woman was able to escape to her neighbor's house with her 15 month old child after her husband came home drunk and under the influence of marijuana.

Police say the husband punched and choked his wife before breaking the phone while she tried calling 9-1-1.

When she was leaving the house, her husband got out a loaded shotgun threatening to shoot himself.

On her way to the neighbors house the man fired the gun.

When police arrived at the residence they heard a car start and found the husband attempting to leave.

Police were able to stop the car on King Point Road and arrest the man.

He is currently lodged at the Cheboygan County Jail facing multiple charges including domestic assault, OWI, and reckless discharge of a firearm.
